Thread: Should I go to a Reproductive Endocrinologist??

I have been trying to conceive for 1 year with no success. Truth is that in this 1 year we probably had intercourse at the "right time" only 6 months out of 12. So I would say we have been trying for 6 months.

I recently had a blood test came out normal (normal hormone levels) + and HSG (tubes are open) although they found a small fibroid on the lower part of the uterus inside (and now I would like to know if I have any outside, but I'll need another test for that and my OBGYN doesn't seem to think it is important to know). Radiologist said that the small fibroid (2.5 cm) is the problem causing my infertility. My OBGYN is not concerned at all and said that is not causing anything.

Plus I have a reverse uterus although nobody has mentioned it to me in the past exams (someone told me about it 10 years ago during a sonogram, maybe it tilted back to a normal position?? Who knows).

Now I don't know what to do.
My insurance doesn't cover ANY fertility treatments although it does cover the diagnostics.
I could go to a Reproductive Endocrinologist although my OBGYN didn't mention it or recommend it.

I have to say that I do not like to take pills and drugs, I'll try to do also acupuncture.

But if the OBGYN is not recommending an Endocrinologist, should I go anyway? Is he just being careless or he really doesn't find a reason for me to go??!?! What other tests can a Endocrinologist do?
What should I do?!?!

I just turned 34, overall healthy. 5'5'' - 93 pounds (this has always been my weight and docs are not concerned about it, have physicals and pap tests every year).

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
